Focusing on you.
“Finding yourself”
is not really how it works. You aren´t a ten dollar bill in last winter´s coat pocket. You are also not lost. Your true self is right there, buried under cultural conditioning, other people´s opinions, and inaccurate conclusions you drew as a kid that became your own belief about who you are. “Finding yourself” is actually returning to yourself. An unlearning, an excavation. a remembering who you were before the world got its hands on you.

Life, Emotions and… Food.
Food as a source of comfort and safety.
“What is Emotional Eating and how can I come to understand if this is what I am experiencing myself?“, you might have asked yourself at some point of your life.
It may seem to be a long and difficult process until someone who is dealing with this symptom is slowly starting to get more clarity around what is exactly happening and the way it directly can affect other areas of life. But not only that, it can result to be a challenging process in being honest with oneself regarding certain behaviors and life questions. It’s easy to end up in self-sabotaging one’s own beliefs and thus reality. The truth is that we all eat emotionally from time to time and that is absolutely normal because food is connected to many emotional life events in a human’s life, starting in childhood. However, when it becomes a frequent behavior and eventually turns into a deeply ingrained habit to the point where you become so dependent on food, it can feel very confining while you are actually trying to achieve the opposite. Its origins can always be found in your emotional world.
In these moments it is very important to start bringing in more awareness to one’s personal life situations, learn to connect again with arising emotions and the information they want to communicate. Every emotion has its reason to be, always. There is no exception. Emotions hold valuable information to help us on our way to problem solving and it takes a lot of self-awareness to interpret them on a neutral, healthy and bio-individual level.
There is an alarming number of people in the world who are struggling with Emotional Eating and Eating Disorders. Most are not aware of their relationship with food they have created in the course of their lives and the harmful effects it can have in the long run, also in other areas of their lives.
We simply unlearned the meaning of “eating” in a society full of stress and distraction.
Once you learn to understand the meaning of “Learning to eat again” and enter into contact with yourself and your body’s needs again and why you experience what you experience, things will start falling into place, you will get a clearer and bigger understanding of your struggles and life circumstances in general. Eventually you will be able to find your own individual way of detaching yourself from what no longer serves you to connecting back with what promotes a balanced life and health free of stress, fear and anxiety.
And in conclusion, going from surviving to thriving again - loving and enjoying life unapologetically with all of your heart while learning to let go of control and flow with the natural rhythm of life.
